SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, to follow instructions, and to accept constructive criticism.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of housekeeping areas, must perform regular inspections of resident rooms/units for sanitation, order and safety.
  • Must be willing to work harmoniously with other personnel as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must possess the ability to seek out and accept new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing housekeeping practices.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions concerning the mixture of cleaning compounds, liquids, cleaning instructions, etc.
  • Must be able to communicate information effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
  • This position is Monday - Friday, with alternating weekend coverage. Covering housekeeping in the common areas, preventative maintenance & light maintenance duties.
EXPERIENCE:A minimum of one (1) year experience in housekeeping in a nursing home or other related medical facility preferred. Possess patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, as well as be able to provide effective and meaningful programming to residents based on whatever level at which they are currently functioning. Possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing principles. Possess the ability to relate information concerning a resident’s condition. Participate in continuing education and in-service training. Possess the ability to push, pull or lift, all without restrictions up to 51 lbs. Moving furniture, various equipment and displays up to about 100 pounds is frequently required—WITH the equipment designed for that purpose. EXPERIENCE: As a minimum, one (1) year experience in an Activities Department in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, Assisted Living or other related medical facility is preferred. **Memory Care Experience Preferred** EDUCATION: Must possess, as a minimum, a high school diploma or its equivalent.   • Must possess a current, unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in this state.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
  • Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to long term care.
  • Must be knowledgeable with the privacy rule and ensure all staff comply with facility privacy practices policies and procedures.
  • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing quality care.
  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
  • Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and practice.
EDUCATION: Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university. B.S.N. preferred. CPR certified.
