We are hiring a part-time weekend Laundry Assistant to join our team in Newport! Shift is either 7a-3p or 8a-4p Saturday and Sunday Where you work is as important as the work you do! SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
  • The ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.

  • Must be knowledgeable of laundry practices and procedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelines governing laundry functions in the long-term care facility.
  • Must maintain the care and use of supplies, equipment, etc., and maintain the appearance of laundry areas, must perform regular inspections of laundry areas for sanitation, order, and safety.
  • Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
  • Must possess the ability to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing laundry practices.
  • Must be able to relate information concerning a resident’s condition/incident.

  • Must be willing to seek out new methods and principles and be willing to incorporate them into existing nursing practices.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively to appropriate personnel regarding emergency situations.
  • Must possess accurate and comprehensive assessment skills to ensure standards of nursing practice.
EDUCATION: Must possess, as a minimum, a Nursing Degree from an accredited school of nursing, college or university, RN preferred. EXPERIENCE with Alzheimer’s and Dementia: As a minimum, (1) year experience in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility or other related medical facility activities department is preferred. Experience working with those diagnosed with Dementia or Alzheimer’s required. EDUCATION: Must possess, as a minimum, a College Degree or its equivalent in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.   • Strong and dynamic leadership and communication skills.

  • Conduct daily team rounds throughout the facility.
  • Ongoing effective written and verbal communication.
  • Uphold professional demeanor at all times.
  • Must be on call 24 hours/7 days a week, via cell phone, with emergency response to the facility as needed.
EXPERIENCE:
  • Must possess a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator’s license or meets the licensure requirements of the State of Rhode Island.
  • Must possess a working knowledge of long-term care operational standards set forth in Federal and State regulations.
  • Prior long-term care administration training and experience preferred as a licensed nursing home administrator.
