  • Experience in non-medical, homemakers and companion’s services required.
  • Experience in sales and marketing preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; significant experience in sales and marketing may be substituted in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
  • Two (2) years of experience in nonmedical services preferred.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for Operational Management of the Care at Home agency. Responsible for the direction of all non-medical services provided by this agency; is responsible for this agency’s adherence to federal, state and agency standards; and ensures compliant non-medical records documenting services provided by all personnel of this agency.
  • Act as a liaison between the referral accounts/the community and Care at Home to identify and develop new potential referral sources.
  • Develop and maintain a monthly and daily marketing plan based on the Care at Home needs. Service accounts in accordance with the marketing plan and as needed.  Responsible for timely and accurate completion of monthly and daily marketing/business development action plans.
  • Maximizes census through effective marketing, sales calls, and public relations in accordance with the Care at Home goals.
  • Effectively develop and implement monthly marketing plans that are organized and strategic through geographic planning, completion of daily marketing/admission action plans, targeting account assignments, adherence to account assignments, sales call frequency, strategy for account development, and vertical account development.
  • Ability to demonstrate technical skills which support/enhance sales skills and results through sales delivery, collateral use, product knowledge, knowledge of competitors, identifying challenges and creating/initiating solutions in a positive and effective way.
  • Responsible for external sales calls/contact with assigned referral accounts based on account priority listing.
Specific Requirements:
  • Ability to travel. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.

As a Homemaker, you perform tasks that enable our patients to remain in the comfort of their home by supplementing the patient and caregiver abilities for home management. Education & Experience:
  • At least 18 years old.
  • Prior experience as a Homemaker is preferred but not required.
  • Successfully completed the homemaker/housekeeper/companion test with a passing score of 75% or better.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
  • Ability to travel. Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
  • A least one (1) year's successful employment experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assists patients in self-care activities.
  • Provides homemaking activities for the terminally ill.
  • Observes the patient for changes in general physical and mental conditions.  Reports any changes noted to the Director.
  • Keeps the private home clean and orderly.
  • Plans meals and purchases food and household supplies, as appropriate.
  • Prepares and serves nutritious meals according to the family's needs and the patient's plan of care.
  • Washes dishes and cleans the kitchen after meals.
  • Assists the family in the practice of safety, hygiene, and good nutrition where possible.
  • Provides for cleaning of laundry.
  • Carries out care and entertainment of children in the home.
  • Adheres to the documentation and care procedures and standards of personal and professional conduct.
  • Other duties assigned by managerial team.

We are hiring Homemakers/Companions to join Athena Care at Home in Connecticut! Openings in Hartford, New Britain, Manchester, Windsor, and Middletown! Actively recruiting for all shifts including 12-hour days and overnights. Pay is $17/hour. We offer shift differentials. Working with our team and residents will give you purpose in your professional and personal life. As a Support Attendant, you provide supervision for safety and assistance to the client in activities of daily living to maintain the client in their home.  The Support Attendant will provide compassionate nonmedical personal care to support clients living with physical, emotional, or cognitive impairments. Duties will include performing basic housekeeping duties, assisting with personal hygiene, and providing companionship. Education & Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Personal Care Assistant Certification required.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given.
  • Empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and the impaired.
  • Able to provide covered Support services according to the client's care plan, respond appropriately to client's needs and reports changes in the client's condition to the office and appropriate representative.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Assist with Toileting.
  • Skin care to maintain the health of the skin.
  • Range of motion (ROM) and muscle strengthening exercises to maintain an optimal level of functioning.
  • Respiratory assistance
  • Transfers and ambulation
  • Bathing, grooming, and hair washing are necessary for personal hygiene.
  • Turning and position of the client
  • Prompting patients to take medication.
  • Application and maintenance of prosthetics and orthotics
  • Dressing or undressing of the client(s)
  • Assistance with eating, meal preparation and grocery shopping
  • Accompanying to medical appointments
  • Assisting, monitoring, or prompting the client to complete the above items.
  • Redirection, monitoring, and observation are integral part of a personal care plan in the above items.
  • Redirection and intervention for behavior, including observation and monitoring.
  • Interventions for seizure disorders if the client has had a seizure in the past three (3) months.
  • Incidental household services that are an integral part of a personal care plan in the above items
  • Appropriate reporting of changes in client status.
  • Timely and accurate completion of visit documentation
  • Adhere to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPPA) privacy policies and procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all information pertaining to clients, families and employees.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with clients, client families, ACTG staff, community providers and referral sources.
  • Always maintain a professional appearance
