Webster Manor Veteran Resident Takes to the Sky

WEBSTER, M.A. — Paul, a Navy veteran at Webster Manor Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, took to the sky in July as a part of Dream Flights, which takes senior veterans for 15-minute flights in an open-cockpit WWII-era biplane.

Surrounded by team members from Webster Manor, including Administrator Corey Beaudette, Paul took off for a memorable ride that paid tribute to his service and lifelong spirit of adventure.

“With short notice and limited availability, the opportunity was just too sweet to pass up! When we received word that one of our residents was picked to fly, we were excited,” Beaudette said. “This event, which is now seared into my memory, was, I’m sure, breathtaking not only for the co-pilots (resident), but for the teams as well who witnessed his flight. Watching these vets, who are residents of nursing homes around the state truly inspired us and continues to show the resilience of those who have served our country. I am grateful that we attended and grateful that we watched them all take flight. I hope we make this journey again and others to follow.”
