Berkshire Rehabilitation Achieves Deficiency-Free Life Safety Survey

SANDISFIELD, M.A. — Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center, a 57-bed skilled nursing facility located in Sandisfield, Massachusetts, received a deficiency-free Life Safety survey this fall.

The State Department of Public Health conducts unannounced visits to ensure compliance with federal requirements for life safety, emergency preparedness, and infection control. This particular survey focuses on life safety codes to ensure compliance with fire and building safety codes.

“Achieving a deficiency-free Life Safety survey was truly a team effort,” said Administrator Greg Dempsey. “We’ve been consistent and prepared all year. I kept telling the team, ‘Be ready so you don’t have to get ready,’ and they delivered. Every staff member has worked incredibly hard, all contributing to ensure the highest quality of life for our residents.”

Berkshire Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center is an all-male skilled nursing facility offering short-term rehabilitation, long-term care, substance use supportive services, respite options, and hospice care. The Berkshire team is committed to upholding high-quality care and life safety standards to ensure the safety and well-being of each resident and staff member.
